Nelson Classic Car Museum has over 150 cars spanning more than 115 years of motoring. We are the best place to see sleek Jaguars, cool Cadillacs, trusty Triumphs and the world’s fastest Mini.

With every car in excellent condition, this is a stunning venue for an event. We supply the venue, you customise your event to create an evening you and your guests will treasure.

Options to customise your evening:

  • Enjoy local food caravans onsite, or catered food stations. Engage with caterers, or self cater. We can supply a list of local food vendors.
  • Your event can be licensed – talk to us about conditions.
  • Hoods Up! Exclusive VIP access to the inside of 100 + classic cars.
    Admire, touch and inhale what’s under the hood or pour over those intricate dashboard details. (Pricing $2000+GST).
  • Museum guide/hosts available during your event.
    (Onsite experts to host the car collection – dependent on guide availability. Pricing for two hosts $1200+GST).
  • Guided museum tours are available for your guests.
    (Dependent on guide availability. Pricing $150+GST per guide per hour).
  • Limited stage presentation area available.

  • We supply the venue only but can help put you in touch with suppliers and share our experience of what has worked well for previous events.

Venue hire information

Event guest access: 6pm – 10pm (4 hour maximum event length).

Event site access: for food vendors, contractors, and suppliers 4:15pm – 11pm on the day of event.

Minimum: 80 guests.

Maximum: 200 guests.

Pricing: from $35 +GST per person.

Please note: As our core business is as Nelson’s top tourist attraction, our first and foremost responsibility is to our daily museum visitors. For this reason we are unable to host fully catered sit down gala dinners.
